XP, VISTA, WINDOWS 7

Many people complain about VISTA. They do not want to leave Windows XP.  I must admit, XP is rock solid and reliable.  But remember, it took years to get there with many updates and 3 service packs of patches.

The common complaint about Windows VISTA is the incompatibility problems it has(correction,,,HAD).  My response to that is 2-fold.

1) Windows VISTA has been out since January 2007 and already has a service pack of patches called SP1. There has been years to fix any of the issues that initially happened on that initial release!  While the people waited so long......and did not move to VISTA because of whatever reason they listed, VISTA is becoming OBSOLETE!

2) The problems and incompatibility of "things not working" was not the fault of the program not working, it was the  stuff that people already had on their computers. Some older softwares were not made for this remake of the operating system.  Some printer companies had not yet developed a driver to make printers work with VISTA. Some software programs were not made to work with VISTA..because VISTA was not INVENTED YET when the software was purchased.  But over these previous years, most all have caught up now and Vista is OK.

Just like XP took years to become 'OK'....still some people did not want to switch from Windows 98, ME or 2000.

Windows 7 is here as the new Operating System.  So now XP users are even farther behind.  As for the name, WINDOWS 7 is supposed to be named for it being the 7th release of Windows since its creation.

Someone needs a recount.  Windows 7 is #9 by my count.  And there were version upgrades within each category as patches and service packs came out.  XP has 4.(The original, SP1, SP2, and SP3).

Here is my count:

DOS
Windows 3.11
Windows 95
Windows 98
Windows NT
Windows ME
Windows 2000
Windows XP/ Windows Server 2003
Windows VISTA / Windows Server 2008
Windows 7
